Official ceremony of the 69th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, on June 5, 2013
Sam Boyack, a 90-year-old WWII veteran living in the state of Utah, came to visit us at the Museum.
Boyack recounted his landed aboard an LVT-2 “Buffalo” on June 8, 1944 on Utah beach. He was attached to the 83rd Infanry Division who took part in the fighting to capture Carentan between June 10 and 15, 1944.
This was his first time back to France since the War.
