Built on a former German bunker. A must see if you are in Normandy!Publié survérifié Moving museum I found my visit to this museum to be memorable and moving. Located so close to Utah Beach, that one of the exhibits was a glass panel looking at a gun placement that had been covered by the sand for a number of years, before being uncovered (I think by the building of the museum). Incorporating this into the museum shows the level of respect held. There were many exhibitis, with lots of information, so you really do have to take your time if you want to read it all. But it is worth it. As an aviation enthusiast, it was very interesting to see the Marauder and the level of preservation in this was great to see. The entry cost was very reasonable. One point of note, there is no air con, so it did get really quite hot, but well worth it. Make sure you visit the statues and memorials outside on the beach and near it afterwards.Publié survérifié Magnifique Magnifique musée,nous y sommes restés plus de 2h,une collection d objets impressionnante.Le musée est tres bien expliqué et l emplacement sur l ancien bunker est authentique.Nous étions sur Houlgate,mais n avons pas regretté d avoir fait un peu de route pour le voir.Publié survérifié An Amazing Museum and Historical Site The Museum with its location on Utah Beach was such a great combination of a way to learn more about history as well as a way to honor those that served and sacrificed for our freedom!!
